The marine leisure industry is a comprehensive new growth industry encompassing the manufacturing, infrastructure and service industries, which are involved in all activities for the purpose of leisure, from sea or water to hobbies, entertainment, sports and education. The symbol represented the ship's steering as a means of transport in the water, and expressed the dynamic feeling of the leisure industry activity in the steering. KMIDA intends to operate the association with a focus on nurturing professional manpower in the marine leisure industry, creating jobs for the young and old, and developing the local economy.
